New Doctor Joins Radiation Oncology

Dr. Parima Daroui has joined the Department of Radiation Oncology as an assistant professor.

Her interests include treatment of breast, central nervouos system (CNS) and soft tissue cancers, in addition to other disease sites. She is proficient in a wide variety of treatment modalities, including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic radiation therapy (SBRT and SRS) and HDR/LDR brachytherapy.

Her research interests encompass both clinical and translational research with an emphasis on improving cancer care.

Daroui received a bachelor's of science degree in chemistry and a master's desgree in organic chemistry from Azad University in Tehran, Iran. She then completed a joint degree MD/PhD program at Rutgers University and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School with a doctorate in molecular pharmacology in 2004 followed by a medical degree in 2006.

Daroui subsequently completed a transitional internship at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, followed by a residency in radiation oncology at The Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
